After the entry into force of Regulation (EU) no. 650/2012 of the European Parliament and Council dated 4 July 2012 regarding the applicable law on successions dated 17 August 2015, the adoption of Regulation (EU) 2016/1103 of the Council dated 24 June 2016 regarding the law applicable in terms of matrimonial regimes, applicable from 29 January 2019, is a new step in the implementation of European private international law on family affairs and successions.
